Beaudesert Engagement Photo Shoot
After 7 years together Matt popped the question while he and Annie were on a working holiday in Canada. Down on one knee in the snow she said yes.
Annie and Matt are one of those couples who seemingly just go on cool life adventures with each other, knowing no matter what happens when they are exploring and traveling they will have each other to make them smile.
And as it turns out they had done a ski season in Revelstoke, BC, Canada the year after I was there and another in Nesiko, Japan the same year I meet Bec there – So we had a lot to talk about and lots of notes to compare.
We wanted to choose somewhere special to them for their engagement shoot (short of flying to Canada or Japan, not that I’d be opposed to the idea) so they eventually decided on Annie’s parents farm in Beaudesert, about an hour west of the Gold Coast. This made for a stunning backdrop and a real contrast to the usual (still stunning) locations of the beaches of the Gold Coast and Northern NSW. Beaudesert is an amazing area with rolling hills and big sky and makes for some stunning engagement and wedding photos.
Once I arrived, jumped in their Land Cruiser and we headed for a champagne picnic near the dam no too far away.
We caught a beautiful sunset with some stunning subtle colours in the clouds and because there was so much less light pollution out there (compared to the Gold Coast) we even managed to get a few shots under the stars to finish things off for the evening.
