Tawharanui Lodge Wedding & Cyclone Cook

Well, you can choose your wedding venue, but you can’t choose the weather.

The morning of the wedding day got off to a nervous start as Cyclone Cook was approaching and set to peak in the early afternoon right around the time of the ceremony… by mid afternoon, the sky was moody with clouds but it hadn’t cracked open on us yet, and given the earlier forecast this was about as good as we could hope for.

Quentin and Alyssa along with their gorgeous dog Koda, are lucky enough to be living in the beautiful Hibiscus Coast just north of Auckland and just south of Matakana and the Tawharanui Peninsula. The ceremony was held on the lush lawn at Tawharanui Lodge, under a stunning crooked gum tree near the river bank.

Quentin and Alyssa had chosen an amazing venue in Tawharanui Lodge, just over an hours drive from the Auckland city. Right by the ocean the lodge is an idyllic venue with a peaceful intimate feeling, accompanied by great food and friendly staff.

The Ceremony was presided over by the wonderful Melanie Stuart

Bridal party make up expertly done by Luisa Pollio

Alyssa’s dress was a Grecian style Alfred Angelo from Ball Gowns Bridal

Bridal party flowers and button holes were crafted by the awesome Floristry in Flax

Alyssa, Quentin and the bridal party prepared and stayed at the beautiful Omaha River Retreat

The ceremony and reception was held at Tawharanui Lodge and the post ceremony wedding photos were taken in between showers in Christian Bay just outside of the Lodge.
