There are a lot of great wedding venues on the coast and surrounding area and Emerald lakes is right up there.
Located in Carrara it has amazing open views across the lush greenery, a warm welcome and friendly staff – It’s got it all.
I caught up with Anna Lowry, the Wedding co-ordinator for Emerald Lakes, while setting up for a party (on a pretty grim and rainy evening) over the weekend and she very kindly took some time to answer some questions for me about what makes Emerald lakes a great venue for your wedding.
Rather then just being a polite chat with some great venues, these venue blogs are designed to ask practical questions so that they can be used as a resource to help you find the wedding venue that’s the perfect fit for you.

What type of wedding do you think your venue bests suits?
Anyone who wants a reception and ceremony at the same venue and also for those who want the feeling of being outside but the protection of being under cover and out of the elements.
What differentiates you from other venues?
All our packages are flexible and can be tailored specifically to the couple. We pride ourselves on creating the perfect fit for every couple that decides to spend their special day with us at Emerald Lakes Golf Club.
What is the best piece of advice you could give to couples in the planning stages of their wedding? –
Relax and enjoy the process!

Physical & Logistics
How many people can you accommodate?
100-110pax Seated and 150-180pax Cocktail Style
Can you accommodate ceremony and reception and if so, how much time will we get for a ceremony rehearsal?
Yes we can accommodate the ceremony as well as reception and you are welcome to have a rehearsal which can take as long as you like.
Do you hold multiple events on the same day and if so, how are they separated and Is the venue available for exclusive use
We hold only 1 event at a time, however we are a club and there will still be people utilising the other facilities that we have to offer.
Is there an outdoor shaded area for guests to escape the summer sun?
Our ceremony area is surrounded by lots of trees to escape the heat of the day and once you reach our reception area they are both fully protected from the elements
Are there last minute wet weather options and what are they?
Absolutely we have a wet weather back up option for your ceremony under our terrace area which overlooks our lakes and gardens.
Is the venue child friendly? Are there any specific places for kids to play and be entertained?
Everyone is welcome at Emerald Lakes and we do have a 18 hole mini golf facilities that can be used for the children to be entertained. However they must be supervised at all times.
How many parking spots are available?
Booking, General, Time & Noise
Is there a discount for booking an off-season date or Sunday through Friday? –
Our packages can be tailored to suit many budgets however there are no specific discounts for different days of the week.
Is there a minimum rental time and is there an option to go over time? –
There are no minimum time restrictions however your room hire is for 5 hours any additional time can be discussed with your wedding co-ordinator at the time of booking.
Can the venue accommodate a DJ or live band and are there any restrictions?
DJ’s are including in all of our packages but if this is not to your taste this can be removed and you can hire live entertainment.
Are the noise restrictions in the area or a time by which the music must end?
No we do not have any noise restriction but we are only licensed until midnight.
Do you have overnight accommodations options? Do you offer a discount for booking multiple rooms? Do you provide a complimentary room or upgrade for the newlyweds?
No we have no accommodation at Emerald Lakes however the Mercure which is 5 mins away do offer a discount to wedding parties that book at Emerald Lakes Golf Club.
Can the wedding party get ready at the venue?
Will I have a dedicated contact person and will they be on site on the day?
Yes you will have a Wedding Co-ordinator who will assist you throughout your planning process right up to the day and throughout.
Vendors, Food & Beverage
When can the we/vendors get to the space to decorate/set up?
The day of the event. Any items that you want placed on the tables can be deliver the day before and your wedding co-ordinator can set these up for you.
How early can vendor deliveries be made?
Anytime from 6am
How long do you allow to clean up/tear down?
We take care of all of this leaving nothing for you to worry about.
